About this place
The first thing to catch your eye at Charming Charhan is its fried rice, billed as a signature dish and priced at 850 yen on its own. For something alongside it, you could add grilled gyoza or choose the Yakiyaki Set, which pairs fried rice with yakisoba, or fried noodles. It is an easy way to build a meal around fried rice, adjusting it to your appetite and mood.
One diner who ordered fried rice with sweet-and-sour meatballs for lunch remembered the meatballs’ generous size, the crisp bite of the vegetables and the fried rice’s subtle sweetness. The menu’s sweet-and-sour meatballs are tossed in a sweet-and-sour sauce with vegetables such as onion and carrot. For a rice dish in its own right, there is also a Sichuan-style mapo tofu rice bowl, topped with spring onion and served with tofu and chilli in a mapo sauce. Sets with gyoza are listed too, offering another combination to try with fried rice.
The restaurant is described as suitable for solo dining and offers both dine-in and takeaway. It could suit a lunch built around a hearty serving of fried rice, or a day when you would rather pick up a dish to take away.
